For lovers, owners and breeders of Murray River Retrievers
Your Committee
Committed to our Murray's

Teresa Peers
Founder and Secretary
A bit about me:
Well, I am usually the one in trouble with something somewhere........hahahaha. When I'm not getting into strife, I am a registered Psychologist working in Private Practice supporting the mental health and wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable members of our community through the public health system.
I am passionate about our Murrays and want to see them celebrated for all their amazing abilities, not just pigeonholed into "hunting dogs". A goal of starting this new breed association is to make sure all members are heard. I believe a committee should work for its members and not the other way around. And I also want each and every member to be treated respectfully and to be kept informed by their committee with the utmost honesty and integrity. I see our wonderful group as one big family and hope we grow bigger and stronger every day, sharing ideas and knowledge openly with each other.
A primary goal of mine is to lift the current breeding standards of our Murray River Retrievers to ensure each pup is bred inline with strict health testing and ethical standards, sadly over the past 15 years through poor breed management this has not been the case.
I am open to any suggestions and ideas about where members would like this association to go, happy to have a chat anytime on 0447 561 946 or email me on cheezel72@hotmail.com

Hi, I am Robyn Sykes
I have 2 Murray's; Zahlie and Mac. Our family have had Murray's for 50 years. My husband's family have used them as duck dogs since he was a young boy.
I work as a bar bitch at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.
I truly believe in Teresa's passion for Murray's. I first got involved helping fund raise for Winston Bear's medical expenses and through that got outed from the other association. I agree we need to be open honest and non judgemental with our members.

Hi I'm Callum & Thank you For inviting Me To TAMRRPA! I Have A Beautiful Family Of 8 At Home...My Beautiful Wife, My 3 kids & My 3 Fur-Babies! I'm A Restaurant Manager Of One Of The Most Prestigious Schools In Sydney... The Kings School. I Am Also The Co-Owner Of Fire-Break Pizza, Which Is Mobile Pizza Catering. I Love My Work But What I Love The Most Is Coming Home To My Big Family, I First Found Out About The Murray River Retrievers At A Pet Shop Where My Wife Was Getting A Fish For Our Son, But Instead I Locked Eyes With This Beautiful Puppy Who We Have Named Max! I Couldn't Be Anymore Greatful For My Baby Boy Max I Was In A Very Bad Depression State & If It Wouldn't Be For Max' s Companionship I Don't Think I Would Be Here Today. I Will Be Forever Greatful For My Murray... A Little While Later We Decided To Search For Another Female Murray & We Came Across Xena & Once Again We Fell In Love With Her. We Have Had 2 Litters From Our Max & Xena They Produced Beautiful Puppies. When Our Last Puppy Was Left I couldn't Bring Myself To Rehome Him, He Has Stolen My Heart Just Like Max & Xena Did, So Baylee Has Completed Our Family! I Love My Murray's & I Will Do Anything To Protect & Care

I love this breed and own two of them. I believe a breeder body should base all its decisions on best ethical practice and not show favoritism to its mates. All decsions must be made with the best long term future of the Murrays in mind. I grew up going on hunting trips with my Dad hunting ducks and rabbits with the family dogs. Ive grown up with Labradors, German short haired pointers and other breeds who hunt. I no longer hunt and just have my Murrays as family pets.

I have to confess I am a cat lover and own 3 of them. I do have many years of experience working on committees and in politics though. My decision to become a committee member was to offer an objective opinion which is not influenced by my own interests. I hope to provide an unbiased and balanced approached to the group with my time on here. I am a passionate animal enthusiast and would like to see this iconic breed excel into the future. I believe in best ethical practices and I don't like decisions based on mateship.
