Grooming Tips for your Murray

Wash with a mild shampoo or natural soap. My preference is using good old Martha Gardiners Wool Wash. You only need the smallest amount due to its concentration so a bottle lasts for a very long time. The natural eucalyptus helps keep fleas away while keeping the curls soft and shiny.

Only wash when they're getting smelly as the natural oils keep their coats in good order. They can go for months without needing a bath so don't be too over indulgent with this.

Its a good idea to use a De-shedding brush on their coats when they get a bit unruly and to help remove the undercoat/old coat to prevent dreadlocks. I have also used just a regular hairbrush which my two find relaxing and often fall asleep getting a brush.

These guys like most dogs will need some good bones weekly to keep their teeth in good order. Feeding a good quality kibble can also help in between bones to remove plaque build up.

Nails can sometimes be a problem with splitting. If your Murray has splitting nails, add some omega 3 oils to their diet. Check your feeding good quality food as well as sometimes its just a lack of nutrients.

Overall Murrays are fairly low maintenance in the grooming department. I describe their coats as 'wash and wear'. A good swim is sometimes all they need.
